This rating doesn't have anything to do with the book - it came in great condition - my problem was I ordered two books and only got one. Understanding things can get mixed up in transit (or whatever), I waited a month or so before sending an email asking about the book. I was hoping to get a quick response but never got one (I think?). It is what it is. Anyway, this is an awesome book for anybody looking for an introduction to drafting standards/methods; I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about a starting position in the technical/mechanical drafting field. The book offers a lot of great visualization exercises that involve different follow-along practice methods for complex modeling.

Riddled with inaccurately dimensioned exercises!

When originally published, this decades old book had exercises dimensioned in inches only. When the authors decided to include some exercises with metric dimensions, they reused old drawings, converted the measurements from inches to millimeters, rounded off to one decimal place, and DID NOT CHECK FOR ACCURACY. Every chapter has exercises with inaccurately dimensioned drawings.

My AutoCAD teacher has taught this class for 27 years. Years ago he wrote the authors with corrections. Nevertheless, each new edition reproduced the same errors. My instructor gave up trying to get the authors to correct their work.

As an AutoCAD student, I find the sloppiness of this book appalling. Technical drafting requires a high degree of accuracy. The whole point of drafting is precision, whether you're building a house, designing a chip, or modeling an object. This is like a color theory book published with only three out of the four colors necessary for full color.

I paid a premium for the latest edition, the 13th. Don't make the same mistake! Try to find an old edition, published by the original Giesecke, with dimensions in inches only. As my teacher explained in disgust, every new edition costs a lot more for no additional value. The 13th edition has full color photographs, and for that I paid an extra $25 over the 12th. One of my classmates has a 5th edition with only line drawings, no photos, no color, but IT HAS ACCURATE DRAWINGS. It would probably cost a lot less than the $80+ I paid for the 13th edition, too.

Hot as anything, but a beautiful story too .

This story is about two people who meet and fall in love. The journey they take together is not always an easy one, but the best things in life often come with a bumpy road. It is also a story about overcoming great obstacles in life and rising to the challenges. The characters are complex and add much to the novel. Matthew a self assured man who meets a woman who is very different than the women he is usually attracted to, but finds himself unable to turn away.He is arrogant, strong-willed and has a unique sense of justice not often found in men today.There is growth in this story for both the main characters. Ella is a delightful character, she grows so much in this story, her strength of will and character is simply amazing. The trials she has suffered are not easy to read at times, but integral to this story. Wil she and Matthew find their happily ever after? You are going to have to read this beautiful tale to find the answer to that question. The sex in this book is both erotic and explosive, there are BDSM elements present, heat level is scorching hot. I loved this book, the intensity, the complexity of this book will shock and amaze, suspense, romance, love, it has everything. It is the best debut author work I have read.This will be one you remember for a very long time. By the way, I have read it twice already. Enjoy!

This is Sebastian EX's debut novel and Holy Sh*t...this book was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. The sex was hot, the plot was great and the storytelling marvelous! I was pulled into the story and felt like I was right there...that to me is a sign of an amazing author.
The main characters are Matthew and Ella and let me just say this....I want Matthew! In fact, he is my new book boyfriend. Lol. Matthew is a bad ass dominant with a soft side, but he's not soft for everyone. He can be rude and nasty but you'll find yourself loving him anyway. Ella has a past, a painful, tragic past that makes you feel for her. Her life wasn't easy. The day she meets Matthew is when both of their lives begin to change. Follow them on their journey and discover what happens when a Dominant man meets a troubled girl. You won't be disappointed.
P.s. I truly hope Sebastian EX has another book in store for us!

The first novel from Sebastian Ex .
And hopefully not the Last . This story revolves around several characters but the two main protagonists are Matthew Weston,not Matt,Matty but Matthew ! And Ella .

Matthew is a 38 year old dominant alpha male who jointly co-owns an upmarket club in a not so upmarket area with his best friend Brandon.He can be arrogant ,domineering and downright pushy,but the ladies love him, and he loves the ladies .Brandon and Matthew have known each for a very long time and are not adverse to sharing the same woman and showing her a good time .

Ella a 22 year old with hidden depths and hidden secrets. Walks into the club one day looking for a Job. A job that she so desperately needs .
The physical attraction Matthew feels for Ella is instantaneous and confuses him. She is not his usual type ,too think and in clothes that look like they have seen better days .An attraction he would like to explore ,but first he wants to know what or who she is hiding from and what her secrets are.

As she settles into her job Matthew takes her under his wing which makes me think this arrogant dominant alpha Male actually has a heart, and together they embark on an easy going friendship which will eventually make her more confident about revealing her secrets to him. And turn their friendship into something more.
I do not wish to give too much of the storyline away as I feel you will definitely need to one click this book and find out what happens between Matthew and Ella.

As a debut novel this far surpassed my expectations. Once I started this book I was unable to put it down it had completely hooked me straight from page one.
It was very well written Sebastian Ex and I sincerely hope we will be seeing a new novel from you in the not too distant future.
Thankyou for a most enjoyable read.

About the Author
John Friedman is a University Distinguished Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. A Fellow of the American Physical Society, he recently served as Chair of its gravitational physics section. He has been on the editorial boards of Classical and Quantum Gravity and Physical Review D, and was a divisional associate editor of Physical Review Letters. His awards include the Telegdi Prize and the Marc Perry Galler Award.

Nikolaos Stergioulas is an Assistant Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He has published more than 35 refereed papers in relativistic astrophysics, and has released a widely used public domain code for constructing numerical models of rotating relativistic stars. He has also served on the governing council of the Hellenic Astronomical Society and was a member of the selection committee for the Basilis Xanthopoulos International Award.

Clear and comprehensive

It is an excellent resource for researchers in relativity who are studying rapidly rotating neutron stars. I found it very clear, and easy to read. It met my expectations in that it: 1) Collected and collated the research literature on rotating relativistic stars. 2) Went beyond the literature in explaining the physics at play in a lucid way. Any researcher who has ping-ponged back and forth between research papers trying to understand crucial points of a subject that are usually glossed over in the literature knows just how valuable this is!

Ironically Interesting and Boring at the Same Time

I'm finding it difficult to write just a good or a bad review on Paula Rothenberg’s White Privilege. The reason being- there are only so many ways to say that the concept of “white privilege” exists and that white people are benefiting from it.

In short, this book is made up of a collection of essays Rothenberg saw as well-suited to approach the notion of white privilege. It is divided up into four parts, each with its own theme. Part one, titled “Whiteness: The Power of Invisibility”, discusses how many white people aren’t aware of the privilege they have, but also don’t want to come to terms with it. The book essentially works as a funnel, first explaining the matters of “whiteness” and “white privilege”, and then delving further into the power behind such privilege, and how to combat it (addressed in part four- “Whiteness: The Power of Resistance”).

After reading the few chapters that made up Part one, I found myself in a strange position; I was interested in the material, yet I was falling asleep while reading it. Was I tired? No, I was fine 10 minutes ago. Am I bored? Possibly. I quickly discovered that it was because I felt I was reading the same material over and over again. Thirty pages in and I already knew what the rest of the book would entail; more essays about how “whiteness” has been glorified throughout history and as a result, those who identify as “white” have been benefiting greatly in society. Though I agreed with much of the text in the essays I was presented with, I couldn’t help but feel bored; I knew I could walk away from the book and not feel like I was missing out on anything.

Despite this, I found the collection of essays in White Privilege to be beneficial in gaining information from an array of perspectives, however; I was disappointed to find that the entire book was merely just a collection of essays. Rothenberg provides her only insight in the introduction of her book, yet much of what she said primarily just introduced what I would later read from the collection of authors. I didn’t feel any sort of connection with the book because I never actually got to connect with any of the authors. The essays were concise enough to quickly read through them, but I felt I was reading more of a textbook than anything.

Overall, I felt that Rothenberg included some very insightful articles, and I appreciated the different perspectives on the matter of white privilege in this world. As a white female (writing this review on a family members account), I was aware of how I have benefited from “white privilege”, but I didn’t quite understand to what length I have reaped such benefits. After reading White Privilege, I was able to walk away with different ideas and a newfound knowledge on the subject, and thankfully I have become more conscious of my own privilege. I would recommend this book to someone who is looking to gain a different kind of wisdom on the issues of “white privilege” and the “whiteness” of living in this world. If looking for a more intriguing read, however, I would advise to maybe find more of an autobiography.

worth reading

I have not completed he entre book but it is well worth readng. Although I do not aree with everythng the book says, the premise is true, whites in america have privileges in america that is not open to non whites. Do no get angry, read and understand what is true so that change can be made. In one review the writer was so angry he excused the entire book. This why racial relations in america move so slow. Except what is true.

About the Author
Mark Q. Sutton began his career in anthropology in 1968.  While still in high school, he took advantage of the opportunity to participate in archaeological excavations conducted by the local Community College. He went on to earn a BA (1972), an MA (1977), and a Ph.D (1987) in anthropology.  He has worked as an archaeologist for the US Air Force, the US Bureau of Land Management, various private consulting firms, and taught at a number of community colleges and universities.  He taught at California State University, Bakersfield from 1987 to 2007 where he retired as Emeritus Professor of Anthropology.  He now works for Statistical Research, Inc. in San Diego.  Dr. Sutton works on understanding hunter-gatherer adaptations to arid environments but has also investigated entomophagy, prehistoric diet and technology, and optimal foraging theory.  Dr. Sutton has worked at more than 120 sites in North America and has published over 160 books, monographs, and papers on archaeology and anthropology.

About the Author
Mike Carlson founded Applied Reservoir Engineering & Evaluation, Ltd., a petroleum engineering consulting firm specializing in reservoir engineering, numerical simulation, and economic evaluations. He has more than 20 years experience in the petroleum industry, working for such corporations as AMOCO Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. and Canadian Hunter. He has taught various short courses in the use of production and exploitation simulation software for such companies as Scientific Software-Intercomp and McDaniel & Associates Consultants Ltd. Carlson has authored more than 15 different technical papers and is a member of SPE, APEGGA, the Canadian Well Logging Society, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. He has served as Technical Program Committee Chairman for the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum (CIM), Director of the National Board of the Petroleum Society of CIM, and is on the Industry Advisory Committee for the University of Regina Petroleum Engineering.
